FAQs about Suboxone® insurance coverage & pricing
We accept many major insurance plans, including Medicaid. Most patients pay less than $10 a month for care, which includes all clinician visits via video calls, Suboxone management, and ongoing support from the dedicated care team. A self-pay option is also available at $245/month.
If you cancel your first visit within 12 hours, there is a $20 fee. For follow-up visits, cancel at least 24 hours ahead to avoid a $20 fee. There are no late fees for payment. If you are struggling to pay, do reach out; we are willing to work something out.
If you can no longer pay for treatment, we will initiate discharge. Our care team will work with you on a discharge plan, which may include referrals to other treatment clinics or programs and a one-time prescription to cover you while you transition to a new provider. You will not be left without support or medication during this transition.
Your insurance plan may cover some or all of your clinician visits via video calls, Suboxone management, and ongoing support from the dedicated care team. The $245/month self-pay plan covers the same.
When you book your intake visit, you will be asked to add a credit or debit card to confirm your appointment. You will not be charged until you decide to start treatment. If you speak with the clinician during your intake visit and decide Ophelia is not the right fit, you will not be charged anything. If you do join treatment, the first payment of $245 is charged right after your visit. If you cannot pay at that time, we can delay your first payment by up to one week

Most insurance plans cover the full medication cost or require small copays. Without insurance, the cost varies by dosage and type. We have tools to help reduce out-of-pocket costs. Ask our team about these.
We’re in-network with a wide range of insurance plans, including Medicaid, Medicare, and many major national carriers such as Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem, and Cigna. Select your state above to view accepted plans in your area, or contact us to confirm your coverage.
Copays depend on your specific plan, deductible, and other factors. We won't know the exact amount until the first claim is submitted. You can call the member services number on the back of your insurance card to check in advance.
For most of our patients, insurance does cover the full cost of the medication or requires small copays of less than $10. Depending on the details of the prescription and your insurance plan, sometimes we need to file prior authorizations for the insurance company to cover the cost. Ophelia will happily complete and submit these documents for our patients.
To book your initial visit, we require a card on file even if we accept your insurance. We need this for two reasons:
- To collect any copays we're legally required to charge as we bill your insurer.
- To have a payment method available if your insurance ever expires or changes.
We will never charge you without notice.
