Care Coordinator

The Care Coordination team will be your advocates for all administrative care, helping you navigate issues with your pharmacy, insurance, and prescriptions. They’ll be at the other end of our phone number, and you can get in touch with them between 8am-8pm EST on weekdays and 8am-4pm EST on weekends.

Enrollment Coordinator

The enrollment team answers all of your questions. They’ll help you fill out all necessary paperwork and schedule your first visit. They’ll also process your insurance information to see if your visits will be covered.

April Williams is a physician assistant with nearly three years of experience as a clinician. She completed the MMSc-PA/MPH joint degree program at Mercer University. Williams joined Ophelia to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to those struggling with addiction. She is motivated to work with this population to contribute to their recovery, support their well-being, and make a positive impact on public health by addressing theOUD epidemic. This role marries her clinical interests of mental health, addiction medicine, and public health. Outside of clinical practice, April enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, interior decorating, Zumba, reading, and hiking.

My future goals are tocomplete a post-certificate degree in mental health. Iam excited to join Ophelia and make a positiveimpact on each patient’s treatment journey. Matt Marko is a board-certified physician assistant (PA-C) with a demonstrated history of working in addiction medicine. He has managed medication assisted treatment for opioid use disorder in all levels of care for thousands of patients in his community since 2016. In 2020, he was awarded a Doctor of Medical Science degree (DMSc) in the advanced professional practice of addiction medicine. His doctoral research examined the importance of treating opioid use disorder to reduce the disease burden of hepatitis C. He strives to provide competent, compassionate, and evidence-based care for his patients to achieve optimal outcomes. Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, going boating, playing sports, and traveling.

He is focused on ending the stigma associated with people who use drugs and increasing access to treatment for substance use disorders through telehealth.

Richard is a graduate of Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science and trained in neurology at Washington University in St. Louis. He has extensive experience with the management of substance use disorders in the hospital and residential settings and is a strong advocate for increasing access to MAT and counseling services through telemedicine.

He has clinical experience in Family Medicine, HIV, Substance Use Disorders, Hepatitis, Women's Health, and LGBT Health Care. He graduated from Yale with a Masters of Science in Nursing. He’s accredited as an American Academy of HIV Medicine Specialist and Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Shoshana specializes in substance use and reproductive/sexual health. She received her bachelor’s degree from McGill University, her master’s degree from the University of Vermont, and her Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. She’s currently completing a postdoctoral fellowship program and will complete training for a master’s in health policy research.

Shani Wilson PA-C is a Board-certified physician assistant (NCCPA) enjoys giving a voice to underserved communities. A frequently sought after panelist and subject matter expert on race, equity and inclusion, She uses her experiences working in FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Centers) for the last 9 years to lecture, consult and teach on the intersectionality of social justice and medicine. Advocacy and service as a medical professional is very important to Shani. She was recently one of nine Physician Assistants to be appointed to the American Academy of Physician Assistants national commission to address equity within the PA profession and was also just elected to serve as the first Black President of the LGBTQ PA Caucus.

Prior to joining Ophelia, he worked as a nurse manager for Mount Sinai West’s Psychiatry Department & Addiction Institute. He has 10 years of nursing experience in Psychiatry and Substance Use/Addiction. Rommel joined Ophelia to be part of the change that makes treatment more accessible and convenient to patients who’ve been denied it for so long. In his free time, Rommel enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, hiking with his dog, camping, and cycling.

She is passionate about ending the stigma of addiction and mental health disorders. She joined Ophelia to help deliver MAT and mental health treatment to underserved and rural populations.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Misericordia University in 1991 and her Master of Science degree for Misericordia University in 1997. She has provided primary care across the lifespan for more than 25 years. She has been practicing addiction medicine for eight years, most recently from her independent outpatient MAT office. In addition, she is a telemedicine clinician with Ophelia. She is passionate about access to care and educating the community to end the stigma against medically assisted treatment.

Her scope of practice encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, and more.

She is a dual certified Adult Gerontology-Primary Care and Women’s Health NP. She received her bachelor’s degree from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and her Master’s degree from Vanderbilt University. Her clinical focus is in homeless medicine, women’s health, substance use disorders and community outreach. She is a harm reductionist and committed to expanding low barrier access to medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) and decreasing stigma around people who use drugs.

She received her undergraduate BA in Anthropology from Smith College, her RN and MS in Nursing from the University of Vermont, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA. Her focus is on substance use disorders, primary care, infectious disease, and clinical student education. She believes low-barrier medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) is lifesaving treatment and hopes to increase access through her work at Ophelia. Her work honors her beautiful twin brother Tom who died from opioid use disorder in 2017.

This has been some of the most rewarding medicine she has practiced in her career. She looks forward to continuing to contribute conveniently and confidentially to Ophelia.

Carissa is a Physician Assistant who graduated from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She's been working in the field of Addiction Medicine since 2013. First, in a detoxication/rehabilitation facility, and then in an outpatient center providing MAT. Her clinical interests include: providing compassionate care to those with OUD, decreasing the stigma of addiction, and increasing access to care via Telehealth. She joined Ophelia to be a part of a great team of like-minded individuals, and to be able to reach more patients who may not have been able to be treated if not for Telehealth.

She graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2008. In 2013, she graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Master of Science in Nursing. Brittany has practiced interventional pain management as a Nurse Practitioner since 2014 and has a passion for this patient population. She has seen firsthand how the management of pain can lead to opioid dependence, misuse, and abuse. She joined Ophelia to treat and educate OUD patients with compassion and understanding.
